ResearchNB has partnership agreements with many other funding agencies. Researchers must apply to the partner agency first. If they are successful, ResearchNB will contribute a portion of the total grant or award as determined between ResearchNB and partner organization.

The funded research must be in a field related to ResearchNB priority sectors: health, energy, forestry, agriculture, or oceans.

Researchers who are successful through a grant offered by a pre-established ResearchNB partner and have received an approval letter from the partner.
Eligible Expenses
Eligible expenses will be outlined in the partner’s program as determined by the formal agreement between ResearchNB and the partner.
Application Procedure
In order to access ResearchNB’s portion of the award, a researcher must submit an application through the ResearchNB online portal. The application must include:
Copy of the application to the partner organization
Relevance of Project to Research in New Brunswick
- Outline how their project impacts the province of New Brunswick and the population.
- Maximum 1 page, plus references.
Budget
- Maximum 2 pages.
Copy of the approval letter, scores and reviewer comments.
- Letter(s) of support/confirmation of commitment from other reported funders.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- An up-to-date CV in any format, submitted as a PDF.
Evaluation
The partner will conduct the evaluation on behalf of both organizations. ResearchNB will not conduct a second evaluation.
Award Duration and Reporting
Award duration is based on the length of project as outlined in original proposal to the partner.
The grant recipient must submit a final report within 90 days of the end of the project, as outlined in the Award Letter from ResearchNB. The Final Report is accessed through the ResearchNB online portal.
Award Size
The award size is based on the amounts agreed upon in the formal agreement between ResearchNB and the partner. Amounts will be outlined in the partner’s program and in your Notice of Decision received from the partner organization.
Notice of Decision
Applicants can normally expect to receive a Notice of Decision (NOD) within 6 weeks of the time of submission. NODs will be sent to the institution’s research administration office and the applicant by email.
